The Great Gatsby may be a 1925 novel by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The novel takes place on a jazz-era island near New York City and tells the story of first-person narrator Nick Carraway's interactions with the mysterious wealthy person Jay Gatsby, as well as Gatsby's obsession with reuniting with his ex-lover, Flora.
